One of my favorite bloggers.....Debra at Common Ground did a beautiful post last week featuring teapots turned into clocks and I was so inspired by her post that I just had to try my own version of
teapot clocks!!

This was so easy to do....I just added a clock kit to the inside of the teapot.

BIRTHDAY WISHES

I know that it's White Wednesday today, but................it is also the birthday of the greatest dad in

the world..........

.....................my dad!!!!!

So this post is sending birthday wishes to him!!!!!

 Yes, he's the one in the shorty shorts!!!

The girls sure seem to like him, eh!!??!!

Isn't he just adorable (the one on the right can't take her eyes off of him!!)!!

This was such a fun and easy project........I just had an old (yes, vintage, I'm afraid, Dad) picture blown up and then decoupaged it to a box (my dad may not even be aware of the existence of this photo as my grandmother gave it to me years ago!!!).  The ribbon is hot glued inside the box lid and then tied on top.

RAINY DAY FUN!

I am home today catching up on some laundry and cleaning, and snuck in a little creative time as well.

Finished off these two teapot lights and then took some pictures and thought you all would enjoy them on this rather dismal rain filled day (at least it is here).

The little teapot is so adorable and I lucked out the day I found it (at a thrift store) as I also found the large one that goes with it.

DONE & THANK-YOU!!!

Well, the house is a mess, the laundry is over-flowing, and the kids haven't had a decent meal for a couple days, BUT..........I've finished another order......Hooray!!!!!   Just had to show it to you all.

I also wanted to tell you all something.....when I first started my blog I wanted a venue to keep a record of my projects......little did I realize that I would meet such an amazing group of people.  I am overwhelmed that so many people have become followers of this little blog, but I am more overwhelmed by all the encouragement, support and inspiration you have all provided me.  I cherish each of your comments and appreciate them deeply.  I am so blessed to have so many like-minded new friends in my life.

What's GREAT about Blogging!!!

I think that one, and I say, one, of the great things about blogging is being able to share pictures of our lives with each other.
These are some pictures I took this summer while relaxing at our cabin.

I always pick up frames at the thrift store and I painted this one white.  I usually play it pretty safe with colors and paint almost everything either black or white.  I am determined to try a robin's egg blue and a teal green sometime before too soon!!!!

The little chicken wire flower holder is something I made one day when I was busy stapling chicken wire to a bunch of old frames.  I will post some chicken wire projects another day.

Again, thank you to all of you who take the time to look at my blog.  I enjoy your comments, as well as visiting each of your blogs.  Isn't blogging just the greatest!!??!!  What do you like best about it??

Back to School Shopping!!??!!

Well, despite having a long list of painting projects I wanted to start today, we spent the day SHOPPING!!  Shopping for back to school uniforms, shopping for back to school shoes, shopping for back to school supplies, and shopping for back to school lunch food for our three boys.  Well, I couldn't resist shopping for a back to school something for myself, and this lovely bouquet of flowers caught my eye!!!  Here you see pictures of the flowers in a old wooden box I picked up at the flea market (man, was I sweating that day, as it was heavier carrying around than I thought it would be), the bicycle in the pictures was a lovely curbside find, and the old quilt is over 100 years old.

Here's a little sneak peak at some Chinese Lanterns from my garden.  I look forward to lots of fall decorating using them.

Vintage Apron Collection

Hello my dear blogging friends. Here is a fun little apron photo shoot for you all.

I found this collection of vintage aprons in a box of treasures from one of my grandmothers.
I fell in love with the adorable rick rack trim and hand-stitched embroidery on this apron.
My mom remembers her and her mother sewing these up one year and got such a kick out of this photo shoot that my sister and I decided to do one hot day at the lake.


I've always loved gingham and my mom remembers lots of fun embroidery stitches that were made just for gingham (I'm busy looking through all her old magazines looking for the patterns!!?!!).
Don't you just love all the trim details!!
