SILVER SUNDAY CRAFT PROJECT

I have been enjoying Silver Sundays so much....thank you to all who take time to visit my blog and leave such sweet comments.  A special thank you to Beth at Gypsy Fish Journal for hosting this fun day.

Today I am showing you an easy little craft project I did with some wood letters I found at the craft store.
I drilled holes through the tops of these letters so they could be strung with ribbon to create a word garland.
I painted the letters with a base coat of black then painted over the black with a clear drying glue and sprinkled away with SILVER glitter (of course).
I also tried some in white using white glitter which turned out really nice as well.
A very easy junk dreams project!!!!
You can find links to all the Silver Sunday participants on Beth's blog....

Happy dreaming my blogging friends.

LIVING ROOM FOR WHITE WEDNESDAY

Today for White Wednesday I thought I would show you some pictures of my living room which mostly consists of my favorite colour..............WHITE!!

Such a beautiful sunny day here.

At first glance you may think:  'what, "WHITE"???? WITH 3 BOYS AND A DOG!!!!!!'  But, honestly, white slip covered furniture is the best solution for keeping a home with kids and pets looking clean and tidy.  You see, any mess or stain can be easily bleached out....so every week or two on wash day it looks like you have a set of new furniture!!!
I love the handles on this little table you see below......simply strips of sheet torn and tied.

I love these IKEA shelves as they are deep enough to hold lots of treasures.

A glimpse into the family room, which consists of mainly whites as well.

Well, that's it....not quite a 360 tour, but you get the idea......

Be sure to visit Kathleen's blog at Faded Charm Cottage for a list of all the White Wednesday participants.
And stay tuned for a junkdreams giveaway celebrating my 200th follower.
Happy day!

ORGANIZE JUNKSTYLE!

Vintage office stamp holders can be found at thrift stores and flea markets and can be easily re-invented
 to help organize supplies.

This one helps organize some scrapbooking supplies in my studio.

Happy junking my blogging friends.

SILVER SUNDAY PROJECT

Happy Silver Sunday....this is now our fourth SS, and I am so enjoying these days filled with silver posts.  For today's SS I thought I would show you a project that I did a little while ago...
Mercury glass has become one of my favorite things......and I wanted to try and create a mercury glass look using inexpensive thrift store glass vessels.

Using a silver leaf kit I randomly applied pieces to this glass following the instructions in the kit.

I was pretty pleased with the results.

Be sure to check out Beth's blog for links to all the Silver Sunday participants!
Happy day!

BIRTHDAY WISHES

I know that it's White Wednesday today, but................it is also the birthday of the greatest dad in
the world..........
.....................my dad!!!!!
So this post is sending birthday wishes to him!!!!!

Yes, he's the one in the shorty shorts!!!

The girls sure seem to like him, eh!!??!!
Isn't he just adorable (the one on the right can't take her eyes off of him!!)!!

This was such a fun and easy project........I just had an old (yes, vintage, I'm afraid, Dad) picture blown up and then decoupaged it to a box (my dad may not even be aware of the existence of this photo as my grandmother gave it to me years ago!!!).  The ribbon is hot glued inside the box lid and then tied on top.

Happy Birthday to my special Dad!
And happy White Wednesday blogging friends.....be sure to check out Kathleen's blog
for a list of all the WW participants.

A LITTLE SILVER SUNDAY BLING (#3)

I found this fabulous garden statue at a flea market for an unbelievable price.  I have filled it with some silver pieces and vintage rhinestone bling for today's Silver Sunday.

I love the chippiness of this statue and adore the mix of the rhinestones against it!

Isn't the detail on old silver pieces just amazing!!??!!

I so love anything vintage with rhinestones and love displaying them around the house.....rhinestones
always catch light so beautifully.

Small vintage silver pieces awaiting future projects, and I am enjoying them as the are for now.

Shabbily chic don't you think!?!

Thank you to Beth at Gypsy Fish for hosting Silver Sunday (be sure to visit Beth's blog for a list of all the participants).  Busy painting my studio space this weekend so can't wait to show you all the transformation!
Happy day.

WHITE WEDNESDAY TABLECLOTH

Welcome to White Wednesday.....a fabulous day of whites hosted by Kathleen at Faded Charm Cottage  For my post today I am showing you a gorgeous new tablecloth I picked up the other day at one of my favorite stores.....Stella Bleu.
I absolutely love the ruffles on this tablecloth...it doesn't get much more "shabbily chic" than this!!!!!!

I have told my husband and three boys that I might have to kill the first one who puts a stain on my new tablecloth.......he,he...just kidding.....it's white.....it'll bleach up nicely!!!
The glasses you see sitting on the table were a fabulous thrift store find from this past weekend.  I love anything with a fleur de lis on it and couldn't believe someone would want to get rid of these.

Happy day my blogging friends.  Be sure to check out Kathleen's blog for a list of all the White Wednesday participants.

RAINY DAY FUN!

I am home today catching up on some laundry and cleaning, and snuck in a little creative time as well.
Finished off these two teapot lights and then took some pictures and thought you all would enjoy them on this rather dismal rain filled day (at least it is here).

The little teapot is so adorable and I lucked out the day I found it (at a thrift store) as I also found the large one that goes with it.

Happy day!

SILVER SUNDAY THRIFTY FIND!

I love going thrifting with my mom and dad, and so enjoyed a day with them doing just that, when we were home over the holidays.  Well, what a great find we made that day.....you see I have been looking for a silver fish tank for months and months!!!!!!!!!  And that is just what I found on our thrifting adventure
(along with lots of other goodies)!!!!!

I first saw vintage fish tanks used in home decorating in a post my junking buddy Lani of Cottage Elements did for the junkmarket style site.  I absolutely loved how she incorporated one into her decorating.  I have been dying for one ever since, and this month I also spotted one in the pages of the Jean D'Arc Magazine.

Here I have filled my vintage fish tank with some favorite pieces of mercury glass as well as part of my rhinestone tiara collection.

My head is swimming with all the possible ways to use this tank!

Hope you have enjoyed my Silver Sunday post.  Be sure to click the link on my sidebar for a list of all the participants.  Thankyou to Gypsy Fish for sponsoring this fun silver-filled day!
