VALENTINES DAY PROJECT #4 U & ME BANNER

Having sooo much fun with these Valentines Day projects!
PROJECT #4 is.....a U & ME banner.
I used music sheets again for this project (they are cheap and VINTAGE so perfect
to use in projects!).
I searched "pennant template" on google and chose the shape I wanted for my banner then copied it
in to a word document,  printed it, cut it out and used it as my pattern.
Next, I cut 8 of the shapes from my music paper and 4 from cardboard..layer these so that there
is a cardboard in the middle which is covered back and front with your pretty
music paper..then glue them all together (a glue stick will work just fine).
Stencil your words, punch holes for your string to go through
and there you have it.....
EASY!!!
I'm head over heels in love with this vintage radio cabinet I picked up while out
thrifting......it has 3 coats of Annie Sloan Pure White that I got here..waiting
for some nicer weather to get it sanded and waxed.
The vintage gold leaf candle holders are absolutely to die for and were
found at a garage sale.
I also did a LOVE, NEST AND HOME banner in the same shapes.
Happy day....more Valentines Day projects to come (I think I have
about 14 in total!!!).

VALENTINE'S DAY PROJECT #3 LOVE CANVAS

So here's project #3.....
A covered canvas for Valentine's Day.
Supplies that are needed are:
1. A small canvas from the dollar store
2. A piece of vintage sheet music (or use a piece of scrapbooking paper)
3. Stencils and paint/ink
4. Decoupage medium and small paint brush

Cut your piece of paper to fit the canvas, brush decoupage medium on to your canvas...then glue your paper down and let dry.  Once dry if the paper overlaps the canvas take a nail file and
file the edge to create a smooth finished look.  Play around with stencils creating a
Valentine themed word and paint on.
My canvas is finished with the addition of some rolled paper roses.
Another fun, simple and inexpensive Valentine's Day project!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Oh my gosh.....what a gorgeous week we are finally having here on the West Coast!!!!
And to top that off I just had 2!!!! full days in a row (well almost) to work on projects....that is a real rarity!!!
Can't ever thank my family enough for being so patient and understanding with me as my "projects" always seem to take over every square inch of living space---the garage, to the kitchen, to the dining room, to the family room, to my art room, to the basement, to my husband's office, to the backyard, to the bedroom...you get the idea!!!!!
I am so blessed to have three wonderful sons and an amazing husband who are always there to help me.....from lifting heavy furniture, picking stuff up off the road for me, going thrifting with me, trying on jewelry and aprons for me, and on and on!!!
You know your kids "get you" when they finally get their drivers license and come home with "junk" in the back of their car saying "I saw this on the side of the road and knew you would like it"!!!
I love them all "beyond words"....
Happy Mother's Day to all my blogging friends!

PS....I see these pictures are labelled with my old business name "junkdreams"....how many names  have I used?  Let's see....there was junkstyle, then junkdreams, then vintagedreams, then rust & ruffles, and now it's just rust.....my businessman husband says it really isn't good for marketing to keep changing your business name....oh well....I'm so not a "businesswoman" anyways..much too flaky for that!!!
