VINTAGE DOILIES

I have so many vintage doilies and am always looking for ways to use them so when I saw this idea
in the Country Living magazine I knew I had to give it a try.
I picked some of my favorites and randomly tacked them together to create this sweet little
table runner.

Happy day bloggers!

AN EASY LITTLE PROJECT!

It is so beautifully springy here today that I have to keep reminding myself that it is February!!!
Here is a fun little project that I did using old painting hoops I found at the thrift store.
These old hoops make beautiful little magnet boards when covered with a pretty paper.
This is what the hoops looked like before.
I traced the circle, cut and then applied to the metal using a spray glue.
That was all there was to it.  Easy peasy!!
Just a reminder about my giveaway.  I will be drawing names on Saturday, Feb.20, 2010.
Thank you SO VERY MUCH to everyone for all the very sweet comments
about my blog.....I appreciate you all very much!
Happy thrifting my blogging friends!

JUNK DREAMS GIVEAWAY!!!

I'm FINALLY ready for my first GIVEAWAY!!!!   I have met so many
amazing people through this little blog, and I would like to take this
opportunity to thank each and every one of you for visiting junkdreams!!!
In celebration of reaching my 200th follower I am giving away three different sets of items.
My first giveaway item is this little glass dome and silver compote that I embellished.
A sweet little rhinestone earring sits atop the glass dome and crystals are hung down the side.
This is a sweet little hand-crafted bookmark I picked up today at a beautiful local store called
Romancing the Home.  This bookmark, as well as a little crown card holder will be the second part of my giveaway.
The third part of my giveaway will be the cute little white tealight holder (rimmed with rhinestones), and Eiffel Tower decorated match box.

So, in true blog style giveaway format I will be using a random numbers generator to chose three individuals from my list of followers.  The first person chosen will win the glass dome and plate combo, the second person will receive the bookmark and crown holder, and the third person will win the candle holder and matches.
All current followers (and anyone that wishes to become a follower by next Saturday, Feb. 20) will be entered once.  Those whom leave a comment on this post will be entered once again, and those who post my giveaway on their own blogs will be entered once again.
Happy day, and thank you once again for making blogging so much FUN!!!

SILVER SUNDAY!

Hooray!!!...It's another Silver Sunday.
Visit Beth's blog Gypsy Fish Journal for links to all of the SS participants.
One of my favorite bloggers.....Debra at Common Ground did a beautiful post last week featuring teapots turned into clocks and I was so inspired by her post that I just had to try my own version of
teapot clocks!!
This was so easy to do....I just added a clock kit to the inside of the teapot.

Thanks so much to Beth for hosting Silver Sunday.
Happy day!

JUNKDREAMS HALLWAY DECOR

I am not feeling all together too crafty lately....yes....it's the weather (and the night shifts!), so I have decided to show you more pictures of our house.
I always love seeing how people decorate their homes so I thought I would give you a tour of our main entrance hall.
These pictures started out as coloured prints....I simply had them enlarged
and changed to B&W at a photo shop.
I then framed them (courtesy of IKEA) and made a grouping.
We have several sets of french doors in our home and one day I took the plunge and painted
them all black....(much to my husband's dismay).  But I am really happy with the results!
Painting the stripes on the wall was another fun project......my next task is to paint our kitchen cupboards!
These are some of my most favorite pictures of our three boys (taken when they were much younger than
they are now).
This was a very inexpensive way of decorating a large space, and it is one of my favorite projects ever!
Happy day to you!
