INSPIRED LIVING!

What a special treat to finally receive my first ever issue of the Jean D'Arc Living Magazine this week from my friend Carole at Maynard Greenhouse!!!!!  I have only ever caught glimpses from the pages of this magazine and have found no where in Canada that it is available.  Well.......it surpassed my expectations, and let me tell you that as a magazine guru that is not easily done!!
This magazine is like nothing I have ever set eyes on.

The following pictures are a little post Christmas decorating I did today using the photographs from the magazine as my inspiration.  All the items in these pictures are previous thrift store finds (except the sweet little crown that I received from my sister at Christmas).

The round mirror has spent the last few years hanging in our outside patio area.  It is wonderfully chippy!

I used some old Christmas ornaments as toppers for the decanters.

Hope you have enjoyed my little Jean D'Arc/thrift store post.
Happy day.

  1. Bonjour Janis,
Your vignette looks stunning, great touch the way you perched the crown at an angle. I need to get my hands on a copy of this magazine I've heard so much about it, but for some reason I have yet to find it here in Paris!

  4. Wow,you've inspired me! That is so pretty! I live in Canada too and it is hard to get different magazines here. I have a subscription to Romantic Homes and it took 5 months for me to get my first one (this Dec.) and it was Feb 2010's issue. Oh well, at least I got it. Have fun with your new magazine and keep inspiring others as well!

  14. Janis,
I LOVE, LoVe, lOvE that mirror!! I collect old bathroom cabinet mirrors. The more silver tarnishing on back the better. I love that mag too. I've only bought 2, they are kind of expensive. I want Jul, the Christmas one. Your pics are beautiful. Lisa

  17. Just Gorgeous, Janis, you really have it. I'd love to find some of that type of Christmas ornament. Your glass etching and newly painted "brass" frames turned out wonderfully. Is there anything you can't do??? And 3 boys in 4 years?!!! Honey, you must be a saint, too!
