Sissie at Sissie's Shabby Cottage inspired me to make these burlap table runners this past spring. She is an amazing seamstress.....me, on the other hand..... KIND OF.....SOMETIMES...... likes to sew with my rudimentary knowledge of it.
Last night I stayed awake in bed almost the entire night dreaming of making some gorgeous RUFFLED BURLAP BAGS.....today I attempted to execute my idea...hours later (and a very sore back) I've decided that I don't think I REALLY LIKE SEWING????!!!!!!----LOL!!!!!
Have a wonderful weekend my friends!

ReplyDeleteYour runners are beautiful! I love how you added the white ruffle too....nice touch! Of course, displaying them on the ladder was a wonderful idea and your photos are amazing.

Hi Janis, those are just beautiful! I have tried to sew too, Jack bought me a wonderful sewing machine for my birthday last year... and I decided I don't like to sew either!!! My mama was a beautiful seamstress, guess I just didn't inherit that quality from her... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteSo pretty...why do we all love burlap sooooo much??? I hope to come visit you at the barn sale!

ReplyDeleteSo funny! I went to the local fruit/ veggie market where they sell all kinds of garden stuff also. They had burlap sold by the yard.I thought what could I do with it? A banner I thought. Great idea! Hugs, Liz

ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job! It's beautiful with the ruffle. You've displayed it so nicely, too, and your photo is gorgeous, as always. I've been considering taking up sewing.....We'll see! I admire you for jumping in and giving it a try. You did an outstanding job.
ReplyDeleteLOVE!
ReplyDeleteI am just finding your blog. (I'm at work-shhhhh). I don't know how I missed it before. I love this place and you can bet your boots that you are stuck with me now. If THAT is the burlap runner you made I'd say you did a wonderful job of it! Diana
ReplyDeleteThey are adorable. The mix of feminine ruffles with the course-weave burlap. A perfect marriage!
ReplyDeleteHope your back is better by tomorrow.

Two of my favorite things..burlap and ruffles. The runner is beautiful! I understand the sewing thing completely. The only things I can manage to sew are pillows. Just don't look at them too closely.
